Today she decided to cling to the side of her basking platform as if she’s auditioning to be Spiderman and needed to demonstrate wall-climbing skills.
Ash did this as soon as she saw me when I got home from work. She wanted her cheeks scratched and to be fed dinner. She got both.
Basking or barre exercises? Maybe both.
This is video of Ash enjoying a warm bath. She was annoyed with me trying to help her get water on her back but is clearly very happy doing it herself.
This time, it’s Ash’s head. Poor itchy dragon. She’s had a nice warm bath to soothe the itching some. Other than that, there’s not much that can be done other than respect her wish not to be handled much.
Ash, starting to bulge her eyes. Dragons do this when they’re shedding to loosen itchy skin around their eyes.
Today’s weird basking position:
Ash, like many bearded dragons, likes to dangle her legs in weird ways.
Ash was doing a little supervised exploring outside her dragon house today. She let me know she was done by climbing into my hand, making herself comfortable, and falling asleep. She’s adorable.
Ash had her first visit at the veterinarian yesterday where we found out she is a very healthy, well-adjusted girl dragon. (Probably)
It will be a while before we’re completely certain but the doctor said it’s safe to assume Ash is female.
Sometimes Ash gets so excited about mealtime she does some funny things, like a handstand in the food bowl while eating.
